The dentine is the main component of our teeth and consists of mineral and organic materials. It lies below the enamel.

Unlike the enamel, dentine can regenerate. The dentine surrounds the pulp and is covered by the cementum in the area of the tooth root. Dentine is a bone-like matrix and has a yellowish colour.
